Georges Banu International Meetings

georges banu

In collaboration with the National Theatre of Cluj, the Hungarian Theatre of Cluj will host the "Georges Banu International Meetings", in tribute to theatre critic Georges Banu.

The acclaimed essayist and theatrologist was born and raised in Romania, but has been living in France for 40 years. He has celebrated his 70-year anniversay in June 2013. His influence on Romanian theatre is perceived as a valuable living heritage and is just as valued as his personal friendships formed with many theatre people of recognized standing.

The program of the meetings will include performances of both theatres, exhibitions, book launches, movie projections, a conference and a public debate. One of the highlights of the event will be the presentation of Georges Banu’s book, Loving or Unloving the Theatre.
