The joint work of several European theaters creates an artistic and discursive space in which international artists explore the topic of the future of Europe. This exchange is more important today than ever.
The foundations of an open society are being questioned in many ways: right wing populism is rising, the growing demand for independence and the debate on national borders are urging theaters to deal with these critical issues both artistically and discursively. The festival will feature international co-productions, international guest performances and new creations of Schauspiel Stuttgart, accompanied by a diverse thematically linked program of discussions, lectures, exhibitions and readings.
