From 17 - 22 August 2015, the UTE Decentralized Academy got settled in Bochum for a new masterclass directed by Dutch theatre maker Eric de Vroedt. Eight participant actors from Germany, Bulgaria, France, Greece and Israel/Palestine came together to work on a series of monologues for the “European of the Year”.
Bulgarian actress Bilyana Georgieva is a graduate from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Art “Krastyu Sarafov” in Sofia (2011-2015) and a member of the ISO theatre collective since 2012. Bilyana chose to work on Alias Gospodin by Philipp Löhle (word-premiere: Schauspielhaus Bochum, 2007). Watch Bilyana wondering if she is on the wrong path while she tries to catch the ‘capitalism at the balls’.
From September 2016 on, Eric de Vroedt will be the artistic director of the National Theatre (Nationale Toneel) in Den Haag/Netherlands. During the last seasons, he worked regularly at the Schauspielhaus Bochum where he premiered with Hugo Claus’ Freitag (Season 2013/14) and with Judith Herzberg’s Leas Hochzeit (Season 2013/14).
