From 17 - 22 August 2015, the UTE Decentralized Academy got settled in Bochum for a new masterclass directed by Dutch theatre maker Eric de Vroedt. Eight participant actors from Germany, Bulgaria, France, Greece and Israel/Palestine came together to work on a series of monologues for the “European of the Year”.
Bulgarian director Boris Krastev is a graduate from National Academy for Theatre and Film Art “Krastyu Sarafov” in Sofia, where he studied both directing and acting. Boris worked on a text-montage based on Heiner Müller’s third part of the triptychon: Verkommenes Ufer, Medeamaterial, Landschaft mit Argonauten, a text that had its world premiere in Bochum in 1983. He is a member of the ISO theatre collective since 2012.
From September 2016 on, Eric de Vroedt will be the artistic director of the National Theatre (Nationale Toneel) in Den Haag/Netherlands. During the last seasons, he worked regularly at the Schauspielhaus Bochum where he premiered with Hugo Claus’ Freitag (Season 2013/14) and with Judith Herzberg’s Leas Hochzeit (Season 2013/14).
