Benjamin-Lew Klon was born in 1983 in Düsseldorf and from 1991 to 1998 he was an actor at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, performing in productions directed by W. Minks, W. Schroeter, J. Lux, F.-X. Kroetz and D. Altenbeck. From 2002 on he studied media and cultural studies (MA) at the Heinrich Heine University, made short films and founded the university’s first film festival in Düsseldorf. After finishing his bachelor thesis on W. Kar-Wai and G. Deleuze in 2006 he went to New York and worked as a production assistent for feature films by M. Haneke and W. Kar-Wai. 2008-2010 he studied theatre direction at the Academy of Performing Arts Baden-Wuerttemberg in Ludwigsburg. Since 2010 he studied acting for stage and camera there. As a theatre director he created a performance at the State Gallery Stuttgart to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the futurist manifesto. He created the short film Reduktion 22 and the theatre piece Deine Hoffnungen mein Herz wie Furien. He also created a performance for the state theatre Stuttgart to commemorate the cryptical death of P. P. Pasolini. He is member of two independent theatre groups: Wunschmaschinen and Shane Drinion. He performs in three pieces directed by L. Perceval at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg. Since 2012 in Jeder stirbt für sich allein adapted from the novel by H. Fallada, since 2013 in Die Brüder Karamasow adapted from the novel by F. Dostojewski. Since 2014 he is part of the international ensemble of actors that performs FRONT adapted from All Quiet on the Western Front by E. M. Remarque. FRONT was invited by the President of Germany to be performed at the centenary of the First World War in Berlin during 2014/2014 FRONT traveled to 40 different locations.
Benjamin-Lew Klon is member of the ISO Theatre since the Sofia and Rome Residencies in June/July 2015.
He speaks German, English and Polish fluently.
