In order to introduce the work of the Nobel Prize winner Elfriede Jelinek to Belgrade theatregoers, Yugoslav Drama Theatre, in cooperation with Forschungsplattform Elfriede Jelinek: Texte – Kontexte – Rezeption, University of Vienna, invited their audiences to attend the open discussion after the performance of What Happened After Nora Left Her Husband; or Pillars of Society.
Jelinek is one of the most significant authors of our time, uncompromising critic of society/societies, and therefore frequently confronted with them. The oOpen dialogue is was designed for the theatregoers who have seensaw the play, as well as for all the people interested in the Jelinek phenomenon.
Guest-experts in the Jelinek field: Prof. Dr Hilde Haider, Mag. Verena Humer, as well as authors and collaborators of Yugoslav Drama Theatre production: translators Dr Jelena Kostić Tomović, Bojana Denić, dramaturge Periša Perišić and director Snežana Trišić are going to recognized the work of Elfriede Jelinek in thea form of an open discussion with the audience.
The discussion will covercovered the reception of Jelinek’s work, analyzed through different topics (staging and translating Jelinek – traps and challenges; gender and politics; transmedial elements etc.).
