The next Digitisation Conference will take place in Reims during the Reims Scènes d'Europe Festival. The conference is scheduled on the 3rd of February 2019 from 12 o'clock.
The conference will be moderated by the antropologist Elen Riot, Associate Professor at the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne. Elen Riot will focus on the representations and practice of digital tools of 9 young people from Reims (between 13 and 17 years old), involved in the play Concord Floral and whose testimonies she has collected. She will focus in particular on the fears associated with teenagers' use of social media.
She will invite Patrice Flichy (Professor of Sociology at the University of Marne-la-Vallée), Jean-Pierre Cahier (Professor at the Technological University of Troyes), Olivier Nocent (Professor of Computer Science at the Crestic Laboratory in Reims) and Géraldine Taillandier (Director of the Saint-Exupéry Centre, an area dedicated to new information and communication technologies) to discuss the functioning of social networks, their evolution and future transformations. Its main focus will be information technology, information and communication sciences, digital art, in particular creations related to the questioning of "privatized" and lucrative technologies (such as hackers) and finally the imagery of the Internet in relation to democracy and the changes in the working class society. The conference will conclude with an exchange with YPAL Network, young European amateurs of performing arts.
