2014 Interferences Festival

Dedicated to the “stories of the body”, the 2014 Interferences Festival featured works by UTE members Silviu Purcarete, Ilan Ronen, Csaba Antal and Gábor Tompa, alongside performances by various international directors, in addition to concerts, film screenings, exhibitions and workshops. The festival also hosted the first meeting of our "Think Tank Young Journalists Online", which laid the foundations for the creation of an online multilingual magazine dealing with theatre in Europe.

UTE — Think Tank Young Journalists Online

In the context of the CONFLICT ZONES network programme, the UTE created a multilingual online magazine dealing with theatre in Europe. Five of the young European journalists participating in the project were brought together in Cluj, in the context of the 2014 INTERFERENCES Festival, in order to discuss the challenges of this experimental project: How to collect and release information from all over Europe, how to address an audience of multinational and multilingual readers, how to arouse the interest of spectators to what is going on outside their country? These are just a few of the many questions that the meeting has raised. The participants also attended a seminar for young critics, organised by the Hungarian Theatre of Cluj in collaboration with the International Association of Theatre Critics.
