On 17 September 2017, the UTE held its second conference on European theatre structures at the Yugoslav Drama Theatre in Belgrade.
This conference aimed at yielding further findings in how theatre structures differ from country to country, in order to create a fuller picture of theatre structures and cultural politics as a whole in Europe and beyond. It was a continuation of the first conference held in Milan in 2016. This time, the speakers came from countries that have so far not been discussed, thus covering more ground and providing a more comprehensive understanding of European theatre systems. They talked about the financial and organisational situation of their own theatre as well as of theatres in their country in general to offer an idea of the theatrical situation in the respective countries altogether.
